About Jon C. Moon
host of Bluegrass Tracks...

Hi, I'm Jon C. Moon, host of BLUEGRASS TRACKS and producer/editor at Windstream Channel 4 in Hiawassee, Georgia. I created BLUEGRASS TRACKS in late 2005 as a way to provide a musical outlet to the many bluegrass, country and gospel groups in the mountain area.

While we do play a large amount of nationally-known bluegrass music, an important part of the show is music from local groups. If you are a bluegrass, country or gospel group in the area and have a CD, please send me a copy and I'll try to get you on the air.

Local content is very important to both Bluegrass Tracks and Windstream Channel 4. I believe very strongly that the channel should reflect the local values, ideas and culture of the area. As a native of the mountains, I feel that it is important to preserve the traditions and culture of the Southern Appalachians.

In addition to Bluegrass Tracks and Roots & Branches, I produce a children's show on Windstream Channel 4 called Nanna's Treehouse. Also, I work with Jim Wood on producing The Hiawassee Jamboree, a music show videotaped live at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds.

I live in the Youngcane area of Union County near Blairsville, where I was raised. I am 41 years old, single and the closest thing to kids I have is a crazy old cat named Hector, who is 18 years old!

In addition to music (actually, I like music other than bluegrass, too!), I enjoy woodworking and projects around the house, yardwork, photography, and computers.
